Story: Ghani (Pawan Kalyan) is an orphan mentored by the local don Khan (Gulshan Grover). He trains him to become a cold blooded assassin, who only knows to execute his orders without questioning the rationale. As fate would have it, he bumps into a medical student Indu and inadvertently inspires her to take on the world bravely. But Ghani himself succumbs to her earthy charms. He craves to be a changed man. But the path he had chosen would not allow him to have his way. After losing his love he is now a man with a mission. Ghani resurfaces in Hyderabad as Balu the florist. He strategically works his way into the notorious extortionist Nayudamma‘s heart and becomes his confidante. But he has a much larger plan up his sleeve that connects Nayudamma to his disturbing past, determined present and his perilous future.

Pawakalyan’s most energetic portrayal and high voltage action are the biggest strengths of this lavishly mounted film also starring the irresistible Shriya and Neha Oberoi as female leads. Added to this is some scintillating music and spectacular production values of Vyjayanthi Movies- The legendary production house from South India that completed 25 years of their reckoning in movie making.

Balu trivia: Balu premiered in Durban –South Africa on 18th Feb ’2005 to thundering crowd response and earned the honors of being the first Telugu film in half a century to be screened in South Africa and provided one more testimony to Pawankalyan’s Star power.
